New rules, higher grants, simpler administration. An overview of the most important changes in the Erasmus+ programme and what they mean for your school.

A new programming period brings significant changes

The Erasmus+ programme for 2024–2027 has come into force with a range of changes that directly affect schools, teachers and administrative staff. The European Commission responded to feedback from the previous period and significantly simplified several procedures.

The most important change is an increase in daily rates for subsistence costs. For most countries, rates have risen by 10–20%, which realistically covers current accommodation and meal costs in European cities.

Administrative simplifications you will appreciate

The National Agency has introduced a new electronic contract management system. Signing, reporting and archiving documents is now fully digital — saving coordinators time and eliminating errors.

Tip: Schools with accreditation planning mobility for the autumn 2026 season should submit their funding application by 15 May. New rates apply to all mobilities starting after 1 June 2026.

What this means for your mobility plan

If your school has a valid Erasmus+ accreditation, we recommend updating your annual mobility plan immediately to reflect the new rates. Our consultants are happy to help you with document preparation and course selection.
