Why most applications fail
Every year Erasmus+ evaluators reject a significant percentage of applications for reasons that could have been avoided. We analysed over 50 successful and unsuccessful applications from Slovak and Czech schools.
Mistake #1: A generic European development plan
The school development plan must be specific, measurable and linked to real challenges the school faces. Include concrete data — internal evaluation results, percentage of teachers without e-learning experience.
Mistake #2: Choosing a course without logical connection
The evaluator must see a direct link between the course topic and the identified school need. If your development plan focuses on digitalisation, choosing an inclusion course requires explanation.
Golden rule: For every course in your application, be able to answer: "What will change at our school after this teacher returns?" If you can't answer, the course or wording is wrong.
Mistake #3: Weak dissemination of results
Schools that plan specific activities — workshop for colleagues, publishing materials on the school website, presentation at a staff meeting — receive higher scores than those that simply write "results will be shared with staff".
